AVANGRID is pleased to support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework (BIF), which champions revitalization of the nation’s electric grid, expanded adoption of electric vehicle fleets, and increased availability of charging stations throughout the United States. These infrastructure improvements, among others, will improve safety and reliability for decades to come while helping the U.S. meet its climate goals. The BIF is well-aligned with AVANGRID’s top priority, infrastructure investment. We plan to invest more than $20 billion through 2025 in clean energy infrastructure like offshore wind, smart grids, and electric transmission lines. These initiatives will advance our nation’s clean energy transition, create jobs, drive economic growth, and provide our customers with the modern and safe energy systems they expect. AVANGRID feels strongly that mutual public and private sector investment in new energy technologies can spur innovation and secure U.S. leadership in clean energy. We believe strong bipartisan federal support for clean energy infrastructure, as proposed in the BIF, will enhance U.S. competitiveness and drive sustainable economic growth. We commend the Administration and Congress for working together on behalf of all Americans toward this worthy goal.
