Angela Owen-Pierce, a lead Customer Service Representative with Southern CT Gas nominated the Klein Theater Arts (KTA) program (formerly After School at the Klein) after witnessing a radical transformation in her daughter Quentessa as a participant.
The KTA program, the only tuition-free after school arts education program in Bridgeport, Connecticut serves hundreds of at-risk youth and adults through music, dance and drama instruction with a focus on building self-confidence and social behavior skills. KTA also offers a technical production certification which provides job and career opportunities to youth. KTA is based at Klein Memorial Auditorium is a 1,450-seat performing arts center that serves as a hub for Bridgeport and surrounding communities and one of only seven Broadway-sized stages remaining in Connecticut. A historic icon in its own right, having hosted the likes of Eleanor Roosevelt and Martin Luther King, Jr., it occupies the former site of Iranistan, the famed mansion of Bridgeport resident, P.T. Barnum.
We invite you to meet Angela, Quentessa and the staff of the KTA and learn more about this Bridgeport Gem!
